This album is rich in its poetic, melodic and written diversity. It is a bunch of twelve melodies distinguished on the one hand by texts and poems carefully chosen, and on the other hand by lovingly performed, beautiful music.
These melodies aiming above all to praise God, invite everybody to participate in singing, as well as to glorify God through the Virgin Mary and the Saints of the Maronite Church, Charbel, Rafqa and Neemtallah. The texts are chosen from the Holy
Bible, the heritage of the Maronite Church and recent compositions. To maintain Syriac texts has an educational and cultural aim, for if we keep practising Syriac, this language remains living within its natural scope, under the aegis of the Syriac
Maronite Church.
The composers don't content themselves with only using the Syriac language, but also draw their inspiration from the musical tradition of the Maronite heritage, thus grafting their own compositions through passages, and capturing the spirit of the Maronite chants passed down from generation to generation since the very beginning of the Maronite Church. These chants
become as they are really derived from the heart of the Maronite heritage. The chants whose structure is solid invite the listener on the one hand to praying and meditation, and on the other hand to ecstasy and rapture. The composers succeed in distributing the roles between the solo and the choir, which creates an atmosphere of praying, devoutness and meditation, and makes the album not only a work of art, but also a breviary that helps the listener sing and praise God, thank and pray.
In the composers of this album, the melody is a scene that helps lyrics transmit a spiritual idea and embody a doctrine, and thus the chant becomes an icon having both a theological and artistic dimension. The twelve chants will be presented in a way to mention their musical characteristics and highlight their best aspects.
